I founded Ellipsis Strategies because I care deeply about making a difference in my corner of the world. I believe that change happens through frank, honest conversations. I believe that laughter and levity open doors for people. I believe that stories can—and do—change the world.

I have a background in creative writing, an MFA, and a successful career in writing and editing. Some say this is my secret superpower: I’m good at storytelling, and I use those creative writing chops for my clients every single day.

I’m emotionally intelligent, sensitive, and caring. If we can’t speak candidly, we’ll never get the important work done—and the important work is why we’re in this business in the first place! (TLDR; When I say, “How are you?” I expect a real answer.)

I’ve seen every side of this sector. I was a frontline fundraiser for 10 years, then a consultant for over six years. I’ve done it all: Writing grants, planning events, working with corporate sponsors, managing volunteers, and drafting annual appeals and reports. You name it, I’ve done it (and probably more than once).

The single most important thing I do— and I’m good at it, if I do say so myself—is making my clients feel seen and heard. I’m always on your side, and we’ll create a space built on trust and understanding.

I’ll never pretend I have all the answers. I believe in acknowledging the gaps in my own knowledge. Consulting is about asking the right questions—not having all the answers.

In everything I do, I work towards a world that is far more just than the one we live in. I acknowledge my own privilege and biases, challenging myself to engage in authentic allyship.
Creativity
No one way to solve a problem. My best thinking comes from inside a coffee shop, at a writing workshop, or through casual conversations with clients. The best ideas can come from anywhere.

The best outcomes happen when we work together. There’s nothing I love more than bouncing ideas off another person, workshopping a solution, and co-creating something special.
